Escape to this beautiful natural wilderness with family and friends and experience a safari for the soul
At Jembisa our award winning safaris are our speciality and we offer a very wide range of unique activities designed to give a full and rounded depth to the safari. As we are small we are flexible with our safari programme to cater to the ages and interests of each group of guests.
From the moment we arrived we were welcomed with open arms, we felt that we were part of the Jembisa family and just completely looked after. We learnt so much on our game drives/bush walks/bikes, and the kids just seemed to absorb all that they learnt. Every day was a new surprise with incredible bush lunches cooked in an old termite hill, to the most memorable camp out under the stars. Chef David bent over backwards to give us the most delicious food, that secret marinate on the beef was just sublime! We caught fish, went star gazing, biked, hiked, viewed, ate, swam, played tennis, and learnt a huge amount. We loved every aspect of our Jembisa adventure and would highly recommend to one and all.
We have stayed in lodges and reserves all over South Africa and sometimes can think we have seen it all. But never have we had such a warm, personal, idyllic family holiday as our all-too-short weekend at Jembisa! The kids (4 and 1) were greeted by name, and the older one sprinted off to the amply supplied playroom, the trampoline, the pool... Lorraine was a delightful hostess and wonderful (and patient!) with children - even engaging ours in a long game of battleship while we had a snooze. The house and the grounds were simply gorgeous - as were the epic views. So much creativity and energy goes into your stay - each delicious meal felt like a new surprise, and I wish we had been able to stay longer. We had granny & grandpa with us and they felt absolutely pampered and loved the house and surroundings. Clayton was amazing with our animal-obsessed little one - he is a wonderful fount of knowledge with a true love of the bush. Could not recommend it more highly for families, couples, anybody looking for a unforgettable stay in the beautiful Waterberg!
My Mum and I hoped for a trip of a lifetime and we certainly got it. Jembisa is a little piece of heaven in a glorious setting. André’s drives, walks and cycles were fantastic. Lorraine and the rest of the team were just fantastic, nothing was ever too much trouble. Gin and tonics by the pool with incredible food, served to us in a different beautiful setting each meal. The level of thought and detail put in to planning each day really is incredible. Our final bush breakfast was the icing on the cake. We feel so lucky to have experienced all that Jembisa has to offer and really hope that we can come back one day.
